Did you know that a human eye weighs about 1/4 of an ounce? With such a small weight, you would think that eyes would play a less important role in our bodies, but exactly the opposite is true. Eyes provide us with the vision we need to perform virtually all of our daily activities.

As a child, most physicians ask you to read a letter and number vision chart with each eye, and the speed and accuracy at which you read determines the clarity of your eyesight. For some children, 20/20 vision can fail them early on, and others do not need glasses until middle or high school. There are still other people who only need corrective lenses in adulthood, or in old age. In any case, it is important to get your eyes checked annually. For people who develop conditions such as diabetes, it is even more crucial to con
