College station dentist

If you are new to the Bryan and College Station area, you will need a good general dentist. When you have just begun college, it is important to start good habits early, or it will be easy to fall into bad dental and health habits and harder to get out of them later. Maintaining regular appointments with a general dentist will help you to keep your teeth healthy and good looking as you go through a particularly busy part of your life. One of the main dental problems that can lead to tooth loss and other conditions later in life is gingivitis, which is both simple to prevent and reverse as long as proper dental hygiene is maintained.

If you need to have some dental work done because of an accident or simply want some cosmetic dental work, you will need a more specialized cosmetic dentist who has experience with different cosmetic dentistry techniques. Orthodontic treatment, for instance, is designed to keep your teeth straight and to help them align properly with the teeth on your opposite jaw. Even if you feel like you are too old to get orthodontic treatment, your teeth can be worked on at any age. The time and effort your put into your teeth and their appearance is a great investment in your mental and physical health. Orthodontic treatment will be done by a specialized dentist that has done an American Dental Association program in orthodontics.

Even if you do not want more specialized orthodontic and cosmetic dental services like implants, braces, or veneers, a general dentist can help you to take care of your teeth so that you will be less likely to need more advanced and specialized services in your future. General dentistry is essential to proper oral hygiene, care, and long term health. It is better to find a dentist earlier, rather than later after you develop a problem. More research here.

How often do you really need to visit a dentist? I know they say every six months, but it seems pretty unnecessary.

If you brush and floss, do you really need more preventative care? Shouldn’t that be enough for most people?
